Wells County Historical Museum
The Wells County Historical Museum is located at 420 West Market St., Bluffton,
phone 824-9956. It is the former John Studabaker Home, built in 1884. It became
the Jahn Funeral Home and Goodwin Funeral Home in subsequent years, prior to its
present role. The structure is listed on the National and State Registers of Historic
Places and contains thousand of mementoes through Wells County history. A $250,000
financial restoration and preservation program completed in recent years has enhanced
the landmark facility for years more of service.
The president of the Wells County Historical Society is Craig Leonard. The other
officers are Jim Sturgeon, 1st vice president; Connie Brubaker, 2nd vice president;
Marcia Hotopp, secretary; Greg Waters, treasurer.
The Wells County Historian is Craig Leonard.
Board members also include Claudine Powell, Anna Lee Ault, Ted Showalter, Mike
Kracium, Paul Dotterer, Lyle Cotton, Jim Foster, Gene Kyle, Laura Sawyer, Duane
Miller, Barbara Elliott and Dennis Monroe.
