OUABACHE STATE PARK
(Pronounced “Wabash”)
Ouabache State Park is an 1,104-acre state park property bordering the Wabash River east of Bluffton at 4930E State Road 201, Bluffton 46714. It is operated by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Division of State Parks and Reservoirs.
Robert S. Greiner is the Property Manager.
Directions: Take Ind. 124 east from Ind. 1 to Ind. 201, turn south and follow state park signs to main entrance.

Office Hours: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday from November through March. Daily hours April 1 through Oct. 31.
Admission Fees: $4 per car for residents; $5 per car for out-of-state; $24 annual pass for residents; $30 for annual pass for out-of-state; $12 Golden Hoosier Passport. Fees collected seasonally from April through October. (Subject to change)
Camping Facilities: 77-site electric campground; 47-site non-electric campground. Both with modern restroom and shower facilities. Reservations available from May 1st to October 31 through Central Reservation System @ 1-866-622-6746 or on-line @ www.CAMP.IN.Gov
Primitive Youth Tent Campground for approved youth groups under adult supervision.
Swimming Pool: Open Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Lifeguards on duty. Pool subject to closing during late summer. $3 per person admission or 20-admission pass available for $30. Daily pool hours may vary. Please call for current information.
Kunkel Lake: 25-acre lake offers fishing for largemouth bass, bluegill, channel catfish and other game fish. License required. Canoe, john boat and paddle boat rental available.
Recreational Opportunities: Hiking trails, new paved bike trail, bison exhibit, firetower, naturalist activities, playground equipment, picnic shelters, play fields and tennis/basketball courts. Completed in 1998 was a trail extension connecting the Bluffton Rivergreenway Trail and Ouabache State Park, and linked to park trail. Phase II of Bike Trail within the park was completed in 1999.
