OSSIAN
The town of Ossian has an elected five-member Town Council and an elected Clerk-Treasurer. The council meets on the second Monday of each month at 7 p.m. The headquarter of the government is the Ossian Town Hall, 507 North Jefferson Street, Ossian. The town government is elected on a non-partisan basis.
The Ossian Town Council members are:

The Water and Sewer Supervisor is Darrell Reynolds. The Street and Park Supervisor is Kevin Steele.
Water and Sewage Utilities and Streets: Duties are shared by town employees Mike Plasterer and Joe Burton. Contact the Town Hall, 507 North Jefferson St., phone 622-4251.
Utilities Policy: Contact the Ossian Town Hall, 507 North Jefferson, phone 622-4251. in the mornings to arrange for water and sewage hook. Allow 3 working days notice for the hookups.
Electric service by American Electric Power, 1-800-311-4634 and United REMC, 1-800-542-6339. Natural Gas service by Northern Indiana Public Service Co. (NIPSCO), 1-800-464-7726. Telephone by GTE, phone 1-800-483-4600 Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Curbside Garbage, Trash, Recycling: Weekly collection for trash, bi-weekly for recycling. Monthly per unit charge by town $8.04. (The town’s contractor is National Serv-All)
Police Department: Matt Christian is the Police Chief. Sergeant is Chad Foreman. Other officers are Stephanie Tucker, Andy Dodane and Brian McClish.
Police Commissioners: The police commissioners are Mike Lampton, Ed Daizovi and Steve Bracke.
Fire Department: Fire Station, Rescue Unit and EMS at Town Hall, 507 North Jefferson St. Non-emergency phone: 622-4251.
The Fire Chief is Kent Gilbert. The Ossian Park Board has responsibilities for park facilities that include the Ossian Ballpark, walking trail, the Sandalwood Park and new tennis courts behind the Town Hall. Acquired in 1999 was the Rupright property for a large new park development. The Park Board meets on the first Monday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Ossian Town Hall (except that the September meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 2). The Park Board vice president is Don Ferrell, 209 N. Ogden, Ossian, 622-7511. Other Park Board members are Lee Byerly, Kelly Tucker, Bill Crane and Bret Miller.
