Theron C. Lindsey, 90, of Ossian, passed away Monday, Feb. 24, 2014, at his residence.
Mr. Lindsey was born Dec. 18, 1923, in Bluffton, to Theron Curtis Lindsey and Bertha Lindsey. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a Purple Heart recipient. He worked as a traffic engineer for the Indiana Department of Transportation.
He was a member of American Legion Post 111, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Elks and Moose lodges. He enjoyed spending his time golfing, fishing, and woodworking.
Surviving family members include his wife, Olga Lindsey; his stepchildren, Michelle (Larry) Heckber, Patricia (Ben) Shaffer, Michael (Patricia) Eber, Jean Brickley, Ruby (Bill) Huggins, and Rex (Nan) Munson; and 10 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in passing by his first wife, June Lindsey, and five brothers, Roger Lindsey, Keith Lindsey, Kenneth Lindsey, Leon Lindsey, and Max Lindsey.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm Thursday, Feb. 27, at the Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 W. Mill St. in Ossian. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. There will be additional visitation from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Covington Memorial Gardens.
Preferred memorials are to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana or to Honor Flight.
