Martha ‘Rosie’ Oliver-Alspach, 83

Martha “Rosie” Oliver-Alspach, 83 of Bluffton, passed away at 2:05 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 2013, at Heritage Pointe in Warren. 
Born on Nov. 25, 1929, in Wells County to Harry and Flossie May (Shannon) Oliver, Martha graduated from Bluffton High School with the class of 1947.
On July 26, 1960 in Miami, Okla., she married Kenneth B. Alspach. They shared 30 years together before he preceded her in death Dec. 18, 1990.
After they married, Kenneth and Martha moved to Wichita, Kan. From 1972 to 1990, she was the owner and operator of the Valley Center Speed Wash in Valley Center, Kan. In 2001, she moved back to Bluffton to retire.
Survivors include a brother, Harry “Haddie” (Pat) Oliver Jr. of Bluffton, and 17 nieces and nephews she loved dearly as well as her many great-nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, and also by her siblings Leon Oliver, Lavonna Blem, Ronald Lee Oliver and Donald D. Oliver.
Calling hours are 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Thoma/Rich, Chaney & Lemler Funeral Home in Bluffton.  Funeral services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with calling for one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Dr. Jerry O’Neal will officiate. Burial will follow at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Bluffton. 
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Family LifeCare of Berne, or Calvary Lutheran Church.
