Ramon Steffen, 81

Ramon Dee Steffen, 81, of Bluffton, passed away at 12:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at his residence.
Born in Adams County on March 30, 1932, to Emil and Roselena (Kipfer) Steffen, he married Lorena Riggenbach on Dec. 9, 1956 in Latty, Ohio; she survives.
He was a lifetime Wells County farmer and was also a machinist at Franklin Electric and Star Engineering, and a woodworker for MR Planners in Decatur. He was a graduate of Kirkland High School in Adams County and a member of the Apostolic Christian Church. Mr. Steffen was also a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
Other survivors include three sons, Barry (Doreen) Steffen of Silver Springs, Md., Eric (Marcia) Steffen of Bluffton and Corey Steffen, also of Bluffton; three daughters, Brenda (Kevin) Fiechter of Leo, Camella (Matt) Sutter of Fort Wayne, and Trudy (John) Eisenmann of Decatur; a sister, Dina Fae Moser of Bluffton; and 17 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Leroy, Lenard and Robert G. Steffen; and two sisters, Lorene Barger and Luella Aschliman.
Services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Apostolic Christian Church East with Ed Schwartz and Ron Kipfer officiating. Calling hours are Friday from 1 to 8 p.m. at Goodwin-Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel and Saturday for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Burial will be in the Apostolic Christian Cemetery.
