Metta Jean Hamm, 86

Metta Jean Hamm, 86, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. 
Born in Columbia City, Jean and her husband were owners of Hamm Chevrolet in Ossian for 10 years until 1979. She was a member of Waynedale Methodist Church.
Surviving relatives include  two sons, Ronald Hamm of Fort Wayne and Alan (Sue) Hamm of Huntertown; one daughter, Pamela S. Frederick of El Paso, Texas; two brothers, Robert L (Jeannine) Blanchard of Chandler, Ariz., and Jerry L (Toni) Leaman of Fort Wayne; one sister, Sara A. Gartner of Anacortes, Wash.; five granddaughters, one grandson, nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Ross Hamm; her father, Alva Leaman; her mother, Helen B. Blanchard; her step-mother, Evelyn Leaman; her step-father, C.D, Blanchard; one brother, Bill Blanchard; and one granddaughter, Julie Hamm. 
Calling hours will be from 2 to 5 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, at the D.O. McComb and Sons Foster Park Funeral Home, 6301 Fairfield Avenue, Fort Wayne. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Nov. 21, at the funeral home with  Pastor Sandra Knepple officiating. Burial  in  Oak Lawn Cemetery, Ossian. 
Memorials may be made to the Waynedale Methodist Church or the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo.
