V. Maxine Armstrong, 94, of Trenton, died Monday, June 17, 2013, at her residence.
She was born Feb. 17, 1919, in Blackford County to Luke and Pearl Moore Garrett. She married Herbert Lee Armstrong May 13, 1937, in Hartford City; he preceeded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Sue Cale of Bluffton; three sons, Thomas (Debbie) Armstrong of Gulfport, Miss., and William (Peggy) Armstrong and Robert (Janet) Armstrong, all of Hartford City; a sister, Helen Munn of Cincinnati; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceeded in death by a son, Richard L. Armstrong; three sisters, Vera Anderson and Mary Roberts and Evelyn Garrett; and two brothers, Robert Garrett and Harrold Garrett.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 22, at the Walker & Glancy Funeral Home in Montpelier. Calling hours at the funeral home will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in the Hartford City Cemetery.
