Margaret ‘Peg’ Jean Hodge, 77

Margaret ‘Peg’ Jean Hodge, 77, of Rockford, Ohio, and formerly of Bluffton, died at 12:57 p.m., Oct. 2, 2012, at her home.
She was born Aug. 18, 1935, to Lester James and Mary Elizabeth (Lutz) Simon. On May 29, 1969, she married Robert Hodge, who preceded her in death on Jan. 31, 1996.
Peg retired in 1992 from the Mercer County Welfare Department, where she had been a supervisor for many years. She had lived the majority of her life in Rockford, Ohio, and was a member of the Rockford United Methodist Church.
Surviving relatives include two sons, Mike (Teresa) Heiser and Rod (Jan) Heiser, both of Rockford, Ohio; one daughter, Pam Beahrs of Rockford, Ohio; two stepsons, Steve (Cindy) Hodge of Celina, Ohio and Gary Hodge of Rockford, Ohio; one stepdaughter, Sherri Hodge of Celina; six grandchildren Kara Heiser, Taylor Beahrs, Joanie Christlieb, Colby, Dustin, and Jeremy Heiser; six step grandchildren: Kayla, Abby and Alysha, Matt, Cody and Brandon Hodge; one great-grandson, Landyn Heiser; and two great-granddaughters, Briana and Adalyn Byrd.
Peg was preceded in death by a brother, Danny Simons.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5,and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at the Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford, Ohio. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, at the funeral home, with Pastor Chip Steffy officiating. Burial will be in Mercer Memory Gardens, Celina, Ohio.
