Louis Dean Sloderbeck, 86, of Fishers, passed away Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012.
He was born June 23, 1926, in Jay County, to Arthur and Nellie Stout Sloderbeck.
Dean was a 1944 graduate of Bluffton High School, and received his bachelor’s degree from Purdue University in 1952. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. Dean married Violet Lorene Coats; she preceded him in death Dec. 27, 2011.
Dean was a field representative in the insurance industry for many years, retiring in 1983. He also worked as an auto transporter at Hertz Rental Car at the Indianapolis Airport. He had been a Mason since 1954, and a longtime member of Parke Masonic Lodge 8.
Dean is survived by two sisters, Jean Mowery and Louise Gass; a daughter, Vonda Tracey, and her husband Martin; and two grandchildren, Noah and Caitlin.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, at the Shirley Brothers Fishers-Castleton Chapel, 9900 Allisonville Road, Fishers. Funeral services will be at noon Thursday, Nov. 29, at the chapel.
