Thomas Wayne Foster, 69, of Geneva, died Friday, June 26, 2015, at River Terrace Health Care Center in Bluffton.
Mr. Foster was born in Oak Hill, W.V. Dec. 18, 1945, to the late Homer Thomas Foster and Beatrice (Toney) Foster. He served his country in the United States Navy for four years during the Vietnam War. He was married to Linda Marie (Velka) Foster and she preceded him in death in April 1997. Tom was a repairman and employed with Strick Corporation in Monroe and Bluffton Recycling Center. He was a member of the American Legion Post 111 in Bluffton and the Eagles Lodge.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas Foster II of Akron, Ohio, and John (Carla) Foster of Geneva; two daughters, Libra Meacham of Akron and Makayla Lee of Ossian; seven grandchildren, Wendy Cummings, Christopher Penrod, Dennis Meacham, Jasmine Boggs, Alixander Foster, Zacherie Foster, and Thomas Wayne Foster III; two great-grandchildren, Brooklyn and Michael; a stepdaughter, Elaine Velka of Cleveland, Ohio; a stepson, David Boggs of Akron; sisters, Carol Keller of Philadelphia, Penn.; and Barbara Dunell, Martha Devall and Linda Kim, all of Akron; and brothers, Bob Foster, Kenneth Foster, and Roger Foster, all of Akron.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 7, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the chapel at Marion National Cemetery. Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 7, at 12 p.m. at the chapel at Marion National Cemetery. Officiating the funeral service will be Pastor Arley Higginbotham. Burial with military honors will be at 1 p.m. at the committal shelter at Marion National Cemetery.
