Leota Marie ‘Lee’ Springer, 83

Leota Marie “Lee” Springer, 83, of Ossian, passed away Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at the Ossian Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Jan. 28, 1930, in Edgerton, Ohio, to Waldo “Mike” Prediger and Marguerite Neidhardt Prediger.
She worked as a secretary at Indiana Air National Guard for 24 years, retiring in 1990. She was a 1948 graduate of Edgerton High School and a 1949 graduate of International Business College.
She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church where she was involved as a member of the alter guild. She was interested in and enjoyed working with flowers and loved her cat Mitzi, who will surely miss her.
Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Robert “Bob” Springer of Ossian; a daughter, Monica (Richard) Donaghy of Ossian; her grandchildren, Rob (Toni) Donaghy of rural Roanoke, Kari (Lee) Bullerman of rural Roanoke, and Shaun Donaghy of Ossian; a step-grandson, Rick (Christy) Donaghy of Greenfield, Ind.; her great grandchildren, Zoe Raye Donaghy, Bree McKenna Donaghy, and Brody Thomas Bullerman; her step-great-grandchildren, Catrece Donaghy, Tristan Donaghy, and Ashlyn Donaghy; and a sister, Linda (Jim) Dalton of Grand Rapids, Mich.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a 2-year-old son, Brian Scott Springer, in 1959, and a stillborn infant.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 16933 Thiele Road, Fort Wayne. There will be visitation at the church an hour prior to the service. There will be additional visitation from 2 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, at the Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 W. Mill St., Ossian. Burial will be at the St. Mark Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Preferred memorials may be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church Flower Fund.
