Juanita Arlene Keidel, 92, a former resident of Ossian, passed away Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at the Christian Care Retirement Community.
She was a homemaker. She also was a piano teacher and had played the organ at Ossian’s First Presbyterian Church, where she had been a member since 1933. She enjoyed camping, but she will be remembered mostly for her love of music and her love for her grandchildren.
She was born March 8, 1920, in Ossian, to Harry L. Davis and Stella V. Neuenschwander Davis.
Surviving are a son, Jack Keidel of Terre Haute; a daughter, Deborah (Richard) Kolkman of Uniondale; four grandchildren, Matthew (Lisa) Markley of Bluffton and Jason (Rebecca) Keidel, Michelle (Kevin) Barrett, and Terri (Troy) Shipley, all of Terre Haute; 13 great grandchildren; and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Marlin and Alma Keidel of Poe.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Loren G. Keidel, in 2004.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at the Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 W. Mill St., Ossian, with visitation one hour prior to the ceremony. Visitation will also be on from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21, at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Oak Lawn Cemetery in Ossian.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Christian Care Retirement Community or to First Presbyterian Church in Ossian
