Winfred “Wimp” E. Guldice, 87

Winfred “Wimp” E. Guldice, 87, of Decatur and a former Bluffton resident, passed away at 11:55 a.m. Thursday, July 30, 2015, at Woodcrest Health Care in Decatur.
He was born Jan. 12, 1928, in Blackford County, to William and Mary (Lingo) Guldice.
Wimp was a 1945 graduate of Bluffton High School and served his country in the Army during World War II. He worked at Thoma Furniture Store and retired from Wayne Metal Products in Bluffton in 1988 after 18 years of service.  He was a member of the American Legion Post 253 in North Webster. Wimp always looked forward to his trips to Gatlinburg, Tenn., visiting 15 times in a two-year period. He will always be remembered for his quick wit and huge smile he greeted everyone with.
On Nov. 1, 1952, in Albany, he married Patricia J. (Strain) Guldice; she preceded him in death Jan. 17, 2008. On May 28, 2008, in Bluffton, Wimp and Shirley (Marshall) Guldice were married.
Wimp is survived by his wife Shirley, of Decatur, along with nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Carl Guldice, Vivian Stinson and Maxine Engler.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 3, at the Thoma/Rich, Lemler Funeral Home in Bluffton. Pastor Nile Bucher will officiate. Calling hours will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, and for one hour prior to the service Monday. Burial will take place at Elm Grove Cemetery in Bluffton. Military honors will be performed by the United Sates Army Honor Guard and the American Legion Post. Memorials may be made in Wimp’s memory to Family Life Care of Berne.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Thoma/Rich, Lemler Funeral Home in Bluffton.
