Joe M. Curtis, 49, of Poneto, passed away unexpectedly at his residence at 9:35 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012.
He was born Nov. 25, 1963, in Ashland, Ky., to Marvin and Edith Louise (Hicks) Curtis.
He married Ruth A. “Bootsie” (Kinsey) Curtis Feb. 13, 1982. in Bluffton. His wife survives.
Joe worked at First Fleet in Bluffton, Sterling Casting Co., and the Bluffton Tomato Factory. He enjoyed coon hunting, trapping, fishing, deer hunting, and spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Joe is survived by two daughters, Amber Jo Curtis Clark of Bluffton and Leann Eiting of Anderson; two grandchildren, Jarrett T. “Poot” Eiting and Kinsey “K.C.” Cordell-Clark; four brothers, Thurman Curtis and Robert Curtis of Montpelier, Kenneth Curtis of Bryant, and Hobart Curtis of Redkey; and a sister, Deborah Renner of Berne.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Hubert Curtis.
Friends are invited to gather and visit with the family at 12 noon Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at Cowboy’s Restaurant in Bluffton.
