Jane May Lewis, 60, of Bluffton passed away at 8:58 p.m. Friday, June 15, 2012 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Jane was born Feb. 2, 1952, in Bluffton, to Ivan William Holloway and Erma Lucille (Emley) Holloway. Her parents preceded her in death. Jane married Dorrence W. Lewis on June 11, 1977 in Poneto, Indiana and he survives.
She was employed by Head Start for 26 years working as a teacher, aide, and bus driver. Jane was a member of the Poneto United Methodist Church, the Chit Chat Club, and the Saturday Night Bingo Club.
In addition to her husband, Jane is survived by two sons, John Lewis of Mansfield, Ohio, and Ken Lewis of Fort Wayne; two granddaughters, Nikki Bailey of South Carolina and Kelly Matheny of South Carolina; three grandsons, Josh Lewis of Colorado, Tyler Baker of Mansfield, Ohio, and Brandon Lewis of Mansfield, Ohio; a sister, Julie Ball of Bluffton; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Rex and Pat Holloway of Petroleum and Ivan and Anna Holloway of Bluffton; and a sister and brother-in-law, Faye and Charlie DeArmond of Bluffton.
Calling hours are 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Thoma/Rich, Chaney & Lemler Funeral Home in Bluffton. A service celebrating Jane’s life will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Roy Nevil officiating.
Preferred memorials are to the Friends of the Shelter organization to assist the Bluffton-Wells County Animal Shelter.
