Esther Anna Dettmer, 91

Esther Anna Dettmer, 91, passed away with her family at her side on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at Ossian Health and Rehabilitation.
She was born Feb. 13, 1921, in Ridgeville Corners, Ohio, to Harry and Emma (Schroeder) Meyer. She worked as a farmer’s wife in addition to working as a clerk at Lincoln National Bank and Wells Fargo Bank for 20 years.
She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. She enjoyed cross stitching and crocheting.
Surviving relatives include children, Sedonna Ake of Poe, Galen Dettmer of Yoder, and Charlene (Steve) Branstrator of Ossian; sisters, Jeannette Gordon of Fort Wayne and Mary Vogel of Defiance, Ohio; six grandchildren, Kent Ake, Mark Dettmer, Donia Gerken, Darla Howard, Trena Shine, and Matthew Branstrator; and nine great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Elvis John Dettmer, in 1975; brothers, Raymond and Harry Meyer; and sisters, Alberta Springer, Delores Vosz, and Joan Schwartz.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 10, at the Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 W. Mill St., Ossian, IN 46777, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 16933 Thiele Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46819. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, at the church. Burial will be in St. Mark Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Preferred memorials may be made to Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home or to St. Mark Lutheran Church Cemetery.
