Dorris Eckert, 81

The sister of a Bluffton woman, Dorris Ann Eckert, 81, of Yorktown, died Tuesday morning, Feb. 5, 2013, at Heritage Pointe Health Care in Warren. 
She was born Jan. 18, 1932, in Arkansas and was the daughter of the late William Allen & Edith (Hall) Elzroth. 
Dorris was a graduate of Warren High School. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Pilot Club in Muncie. She enjoyed sewing and knitting. She loved her two dachshund dogs greatly. Dorris was a former employee of General Electric. She was a loving wife and mother.
Dorris is survived by her two children, Patti Eckert of Lafayette and Chris Eckert of Fort Wayne; a sister, Thelma (John) Brubaker of Bluffton; a brother, Richard Elzroth of Lagro; and four grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Rupert Eckert, and several siblings.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 9, at 1 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. Ind. 3, Muncie, with Rev. Dennis Goth as celebrant. Family and friends may call Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
