Ruthann Pinkerton, 76, 608 W. North St., Portland passed away Sunday, March 1, 2015, in I.U. Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.
She was born in Portland Sept. 3, 1938, the daughter of Carl and Pearl (Clapp) Foltz. She was married June 24, 1960, to Paul Pinkerton, and he died April 4, 2013.
She was retired as a teller for Portland Forge Credit Union and also worked for City of Portland, Peoples Bank, Teachers Credit Union and ASCS Office. She was a member of Sugar Grove Nazarene Church where she was the organist and pianist, Jackson Twp. Nu Kummers Home Ec. Club, Gideons Auxiliary, D.A.R. Recipient and 1956 Poling High School graduate.
Surviving are one son, Rex (Cathy) Pinkerton, of Portland: four daughters, Lynn Pinkerton of Portland, Irene Pinkerton of Greenwood, Beth Pinkerton of Greenwood and Mrs. John (Rachel) Greene of Greenwood; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home, with Pastor Larry Sheets presiding. Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Pennville. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. Memorials can be made to Gideons International or Hemophilia of Indiana.
