Anthony ‘Tony’ Wesolowski, 81

Anthony “Tony” Wesolowski Jr., 81, passed away Sept. 4, 2013 in Rawlins House, Pendleton.
He was born April 22, 1932 ,in La Porte to Anthony Sr. and Rose (Tanski) Wesolowski.
Tony graduated from Mill Creek High School in 1950, attended Wabash College, and received his bachelors and masters degrees from Ball State University.
On Oct. 29, 1955, he married Genevieve Piotrowicz in Fish Lake, Indiana. They have resided in the Eaton-Hartford City area since 1977.
Tony served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He taught at several northwestern Indiana high schools and later served as the director of vocational education in Delaware, Jay, Blackford and Randolph counties at the Muncie Area Career Center, retiring in 1994.
Surviving are: his wife, Genevieve (Genny); his children, Rose Marie (Anthony) Slack of Woodward, Iowa, Teresa (Kent) Hoover of Anderson, Doug (Barbara) Wesolowski of Springport, Karen (Jeff) Gill of Fountaintown, Patricia (Rick) Elwell of Bluffton; daughter-in-law, Barbara Wesolowski of Columbus; brother, Robert (Carol) Wesolowski of Florida; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Richard and Bert Wesolowski; three sisters, Dorothy Wood, Frances Zilski, and Josephine Wesolowski; also a son, Joseph, and granddaughter, Michelle Wesolowski, on Aug. 11, 2013.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Dave Newton at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 9, in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 209 S. Spring St., Hartford City. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8 in Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City, and Monday from 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. A Christian Wake Service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday. Burial will follow in Hartford City Cemetery with military graveside rites.
Memorials may be made in the form of masses.
