Alfred R. Gordon, 84

Alfred R. Gordon, 84, of Rockcreek Township, passed away at 9:24 a.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
He was born June 6, 1928, in Rockcreek Township, to Robert Ray Gordon and Carrie Alice Foster Gordon. He married Gloria E. Stoffel Nov. 26, 1949, in SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Huntington; she survives.
A 1946 graduate of Rockcreek High School, Mr. Gordon was a lifelong farmer in Rockcreek Township. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
He was a family man, especially enjoying time with his grandchildren.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel in Bluffton and from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bluffton. A Rosary service will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, at the church with Father Francis Chukwuma officiating. Burial will be at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Bluffton.
Preferred memorials are to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul or to Masses.
