IHSAA changes boys track regionals
After more than two decades of competing at the Fort Wayne boys track and field regional, athletes who advance from the Goshen boys track sectional — mainly Elkhart and Kosciusko County teams — will instead travel to Kokomo.
They will join qualifiers from the Penn, Plymouth and Kokomo sectionals for the Kokomo boys regional meet on Thursday, May 24.
Meanwhile, athletes who advance from what used to be the Oak Hill sectional — a sectional that no longer exists — will be shifted to Fort Wayne.
That means traditional powers such as Marion and Huntington North will no longer be part of the Kokomo regional field.
Oak Hill’s team has been moved into the Kokomo sectional. Another school will act as host for the “old” Oak Hill sectional, and qualifiers will go to the Wayne regional at Fort Wayne.
