Ossian

OSSIAN
The town of Ossian has an elected five-member Town Council and an elected Clerk-Treasurer. The council meets on the second and fourth Mondays of each month at 7 p.m. The headquarters of the government is the Ossian Town Hall, 507 North Jefferson Street, Ossian. The town government is elected on a non-partisan basis.

Curbside Garbage, Trash, Recycling: Weekly collection for trash, bi-weekly for recycling. Monthly per unit charge by town $11. (The town’s contractor is National Serv-All)
Police Department: The Police Chief is David Rigney, Sergeant is Chad Foreman. Other officers are Stephanie Newnum, Nathaniel Hill and Brian McClish.
Police Commissioners: The police commissioners are Mike Lampton, Ed Daizovi and Steve Bracke.

The Fire Chief is Ed Connett. The Assistant Fire Chiefs are Mike Marquardt. The Captainsare Randy Garton, Jeff Miller, Lee Dettmer and Kent Gilbert. The Safety Officer is Bob Miller. The Ossian Park Board has responsibilities for park facilities that include the Ossian Ballpark, walking trail, the Sandalwood Park and Maplewood Park, located behind the Town Hall. Under development is a 65-acre park on the east side of Ossian, Archbold-Wilson Memorial Park. The Park Board meets on the first Monday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Ossian Town Hall with the exception being months were Mondays fall on a holiday. When that occurs, the date of the meeting will be announced. The Park Board president is Bill Crane, 307 Highland Dr., Ossian, 622-4418. Other Park Board members are Steve Andrews, Tim Rohr, Laura Montigny and Christine Fenstermaker.
