Rural Fire Depts

LIBERTY CENTER FIRE DEPARTMENT
The Liberty Center Volunteer Fire Department serves in  Liberty Township and in mutual aid to other fire departments in Wells County and Huntington County.
The Department’s fire equipment includes the 401-pumper, 402 rescue pumper the 405-tanker, the 407-grass truck and the 408-equipment.
The Chief is Jeremy Daugherty. The Assistant Chief is Josh Daugherty. Captains are Tim Morris and Jim Platt. The Safety Officer is Tim Thompson. The Secretary-Treasurer is Tanya Ragg.
First responders are Jeremy Daugherty, Josh Daugherty, Jim Woodward, Trenton Markley, Jim Platt, Scott Turmail and Sean Tappy. The department has a total of 20 active firefighters.  All members are trained to use the ice rescue equipment acquired by the Wells County Emergency Management Agency.

CHESTER TOWNSHIP FIRE DEPARTMENT
Don Oswalt is the chief of the Chester Township Fire Department.  Jody Nusbaumer is assistant chief. Kenny Oswalt is the captain. Aaron Thompson and Kevin Couch are lieutenants. Kyle Couch is the safety officer. The treasurer is Stan Bales, the secretary is D.J. Henderson.
First Responders are Kenny Oswalt, Don Oswalt, Kevin Couch, Kyle Couch, Keith Paxson, D.J. Henderson, Brian Hollingsworth.
Other firefighters include James Harris, Dale Gearheart, Roger Grover, Mike Gilbert, Derek Fox, Jesse Fox, Cory McElhaney, Amy Stickler, Scott Zent, Tyson Zook and Mackenzie Morrison.

      The Nottingham Township Volunteer Fire Department  provides Nottingham Township and surrounding areas  with fire suppression, mutual aid, medical first response and other emergency services.  The members of the Fire Department are dedicated to volunteering their time and talents to their community with no financial compensation. The members of the department are as follows, with the year they joined the department in parentheses:
