First Bank of Berne was ranked the No. 1 best performing bank in the state of Indiana for the first quarter of 2010 — the 5th quarter in a row that First Bank of Berne has earned that honor in the Indiana Bank Performance Report completed by the Financial Management Consulting Group.
The quarterly report analyzes the 102 Indiana banks on nine various financial factors such as interest margin, efficiency, asset quality (loans) and profits. First Bank of Berne had the best overall average ranking for the 2010 first quarter and the entire year of 2009, after having held the honor for the second quarter in 2008.
First Bank of Berne operates a total of eight offices in Berne, Decatur, Bluffton, and Portland in Indiana and in Van Wert, Ohio.
