Indiana Chamber will host two HR seminars

The Indiana Chamber of Commerce will offer courses in June to update employers on Family Medical and Leave Act changes and techniques for supervising and managing staff.

Event details include:

• FMLA Seminar, June 3 at the Indiana Chamber Conference Center at 115 W. Washington St., Suite 850S in downtown Indianapolis, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Family Medical and Leave Act makes it necessary for employers to stay up-to-date on the law in order to remain compliant. This course will address the latest FMLA regulations, military leave, medical issues, proper documentation and ways to curb abuse. The conference is presented by Ogletree Deakins. The cost for Indiana Chamber members is $299 and for non-members is $329.

• Supervising and Managing People Workshop, June 10-11 at the Indiana Chamber Conference Center at 115 W. Washington St., Suite 850S in downtown Indianapolis, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. both days. Attendees will learn techniques for motivating people, how to be a more effective leader and keys to effective communication. The seminar is presented by Comprehensive Performance Systems and is designed to benefit both new and experienced managers and supervisors. Registration for the two-day workshop is $599.
