Kent Liechty, currently the executive vice president and head of lending at First Bank of Berne, will become the bank’s president and chief operating officer May 1.
He will succeed Charles Isch in the office. Isch announced his retirement last month.
“The change of management of the bank will be very seamless, as I have been preparing for this transition for several years,” Isch said. “Kent Liechty will become the 10 president of our bank and will be supported by a very strong group of leaders in each of our departments.”
Isch will continue to serve on the bank’s board of directors.
Liechty has 18 years of banking experience and joined First Bank of Berne in 1998 after five years with NBD in Fort Wayne.
Liechty, his wife Teri, and their two children reside in Berne.
