Some might say former Wells County resident Melissa Poling Kilough has limited abilities. For the past 23 years, she has functioned from a wheelchair as a quadriplegic, due to trauma to her spinal cord following surgery to remove a tumor.
Despite her medical condition Kilough has refused to sit on the sidelines and let life pass her by. In 2009 she fulfilled a longtime dream, that of writing a children’s book.
