Indiana’s 34 Pak-a-Sak locations have raised more than $20,000 since Feb. 15 for the fight against muscular dystrophy with its “Shamrocks Against Dystrophy” campaign — and the Montpelier store is one of two locations to raise more than $3,000.
The campaign, which benefits the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Northeast Indiana, offered customers a chance to buy green shamrocks for $1 or gold shamrocks for $5. The Montpelier store and the Middlebury store each raised more than $3,000.
MDA’s Shamrocks Against Dystrophy is the nation’s largest charitable fundraising campaign associated with St. Patrick’s Day.
Funds raised annually through the shamrocks sale help MDA provide services to more than 550 individuals living with neuromuscular disease in northeast Indiana.
