Volunteer drivers needed

advertisement:

This year in Indiana, thousands of people will be diagnosed with cancer. They will find themselves needing chemotherapy, radiation, and other medical care and they won’t be able to do it alone. They will need support, educational resources, and rides to and from their treatments. The American Cancer Society works within the local communities to supply these resources, but we realize that we can’t do it without a large driving force of volunteers.

Your local American Cancer Society office is in need of local volunteer drivers to participate in our Road to Recovery program. This program pairs up volunteer drivers with cancer patients to assist in getting these patients to their treatments. There are cancer patients within your community who are not going to their cancer treatment, a treatment that could save their lives, because they have no way to get there. We have the program to make this happen, but we need the world of the cancer patient and the world of the volunteer to collide, and this is where we look to your support.

I volunteer for the local Road to Recovery and have seen how critical it is to receive proper medical treatment. That is why the American Cancer Society is asking you to serve as an ambassador for our Road to Recovery program. We have much more work to do, and we need your help to spread the word. Please consider donating a small amount of your time each month to help a cancer patient.

For more information or to volunteer, please your local American Cancer Society office at 260-471-3911.  For cancer information call, 800.227.2345 or visit www.cancer.org.

Sincerely,
Tom Bolinger
