‘School Reach’ given first trial

Bluffton-Harrison schools first announced a two-hour delay last Friday, then, when the weather worsened, Superintendent Wayne Barker decided to cancel classes altogether.

But within five minutes the school district, testing its new “School Reach” program, was able to make 1,063 calls to parents to let them know the change had been made.
