FREMONT — A spectacular performance by Norwell senior Brandon Gerber led the Knights to a 61-45 victory over the Fremont Eagles Wednesday night in season-opening, boys’ basketball action.
The 6-5 Gerber scored 19 points and grabbed 19 rebounds, helping orchestrate the Knights’ runaway showing.
“That’s not just a double-double, that’s impressive,” said Norwell coach Randy Hawkins, who picked up his first win as the new Knights’ skipper. “To be able to come out here and do that sort of thing and really take over a ballgame and be such a factor in the ballgame, he did a tremendous job.”
