Faced with a transportation budget that is stretched to its limit, Bluffton-Harrison Metropolitan School District is taking another look at a one-route transportation system.
At Monday’s meeting, B-H Superintendent Wayne Barker recommended the board have him re-examine ways of saving money by combining bus routes.
“We’d be about $30,000 in the red in our transportation budget right now if we hadn’t given ourselves a loan,” Barker said. “As it is I anticipate our budget will be very, very tight at the end of the year.”
