BERNE — The Southern Wells Raiders girls’ cross country team came up with a strong showing Saturday at the South Adams Invitational, holding off the Carroll Cougars for the runner-up spot.
Freshman Sam Rhodes, senior Emily Pinkerton and sophomore Ashton Grube led the Raiders with Top 20 finishes. The Raiders outscored the Cougars from Flora, 129-134, while the host South Adams Starfires ran away with first place with 73 points.
