OSSIAN — The Town Council carried through on several items of business Monday night, including requiring a Rose Ann Heights resident to allow water to drain through his property, approving a deal with the state on new stoplights on Jefferson Street (Ind. 1), and taking the first steps toward getting two abandoned houses torn down.
The Rose Ann Heights issue has been festering for a month, since Jeff and Rhonda Bigelow, 906 Homestead Ave., came to the council and asked that drainage issues be addressed. A swale had been filled in on the property next door to them, they said, which caused water to flood onto their property.
