The Bluffton Tigers found their offense in the second game of a baseball doubleheader Saturday afternoon at Converse to pull out a split against the Oak Hill Golden Eagles.
The Tigers (1-3) rapped out 15 hits and scored five runs in the top of the 10th inning to win the nightcap 10-5.
Oak Hill (2-2), behind the five-hit pitching of Ben Heincker, defeated the Tigers 7-1 in the first game.
In game two, Tanner McKinney (1-0) held the Golden Eagles scoreless over the last five innings to record the win. He gave up two hits, walked four and struck out four.
Jarred Carpenter started the second game for Bluffton but gave up five runs, four earned, on four hits and four walks. He struck out five.
Mark Vanderkolk, Carpenter and McKinney each drove in two runs in the second game. Carpenter had four hits.
Jake King and Gary Green both hit solo home runs. Colin Penrod also knocked in a run. King, Green, McKinney and Vanderkolk each had two hits.
Matt Davenport belted a two-run homer for Oak Hill in game two. Ryan Spaulding, Jake Althouse and Heincker each had one RBI.
Althouse, who was the third of four Oak Hill pitchers in game two, suffered the loss. Davenport was the starter and went six-plus innings.
In game one, Cameron Gerber (1-1) pitched six innings for the Tigers and took the loss. He allowed six earned runs on 11 hits. He walked two and struck out three.
Davenport and Spaulding each drove in two runs to lead Oak Hill. Davenport had a homer and Spaulding doubled.
Eric Craun, Eric Shorten and Craig Williams each had one RBI for the Golden Eagles. Shorten also doubled.
