A Wednesday morning two-vehicle crash at the intersection of U.S. 224 and 600E in Tocsin sent a Uniondale man to the hospital.
Andrew N. Hale, 28, was treated for minor injuries at Bluffton Regional Medical Center.
According to Deputy Dave Johnson, the 10 a.m. crash happened as Fred Heider, 58, of Craigville, was southbound on 600E in a van approaching the U.S. 224 intersection. He could not get stopped in time because of the slick road conditions and slid into the intersection.
Hale was eastbound on U.S. 224 in a GMC Jimmy and saw Heider enter the intersection.
He attempted to avoid the collision by driving off the side of the road but lost control of the vehicle.
His Jimmy flipped over a stop sign on 600E and the vehicle came to a rest facing west on the south side of U.S. 224.
Hale complained of neck pain and was taken to Bluffton Regional Medical Center.
Ossian Fire-Rescue units also responded to the scene and disconnected power in the rolled vehicle.
Total damage exceeded $5,000.
