Hawks split two games Tuesday
The Wells County Hawks split a pair of games on Tuesday in the Dreams Park baseball tournament at Cooperstown, N.Y. Early in the day, the Hawks outlasted the Mendon (N.Y.) Storm 18-17. Then in the afternoon, the Hawks (2-3) suffered an 11-2 loss to the California Diamond Devils. Against the Storm, Logan Dettmer led the Hawks with two home runs and seven runs batted in. Jonah Patten and McCallister Clouser each belted a home run and two singles. Piercen Harnish also homered.

Win Seniors best ball golf event
The team of Jerry Moss, Roger Nelson, Tom Antrim and Stan Ellison won the Tuesday Senior Golf League best ball event at Green Valley golf course in Bluffton. Gene Myers was the closest to the pin winner.

Bluffton tennis practice to begin
Bluffton Tigers boys tennis practice will start on Aug. 4.  Practices will be held from 9-11 a.m. until school begins. Then after classes start, practices will be run from 2:45-4:30 p.m. If there are any questions, contact Robert Vanderkolk at 273-3220 or 824-5454.

Norwell football golf outing slated
The ninth Norwell football golf outing will be Aug. 9 at Timber Ridge golf course in Bluffton. Registration begins at 11 a.m., followed by lunch at 11:30 and a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. Cost is $60 or $40 for Timber Ridge members.
