Garbage carts....I wasn’t aware the carts are supposed to make the city neater. It was meant for safety of the employess that lifted those very overweight large ugly can, with most not having lids.
These guys have had many back injuries and one I know for sure is Virginia West’s son who has a severe back injuries and do hope the people that lifts the garbage cans reply to the safety issue. Also I am sure it helps with the liability for the City of Bluffton and I am sure OSHA is darn glad that they went to automation and can hardly wait when and if they do this for recycling for the people have to pick up them ole totes also, but not as heavy.
I for one if I was your neighbor I would pull the cart for you to the front. If I ever get in the position that I can’t pull the cart, I have great neighbors who would do this for me, for that is what being a good neighbor is all about. I am very fortunate to have these neighbors.
I am going on 69 years young, pull my garbage from the back of the house to the front sidewalk, still mow, rake, sweep my sidewalk, walk and jog my dog one mile day and ride bicycle all over so I am very fortunate to be able to do all this, and I consider myself elderly when I can’t do this any more.
We must keep up with the times and whatever is the safest way for a person to do there job is the right way, for safety should be number 1, no matter who it is.
