INDIANAPOLIS — Bluffton Motor Works’ plans to add 70 new jobs by 2017 made it one of 16 companies featured at a jobs creation press conference Thursday at the Statehouse.
The 16 companies named at Thursday’s event plan to add nearly 2,200 jobs within three years. In return, the state has given the companies more than $19 million in tax credits and other incentives.
Bluffton Motor Works LLC announced its expansion plans in October, at which time the estimate was “50 to 60” jobs. The statement released by the Indiana Economic Development Corporation in conjunction with Thursday’s announcement said the company would be investing $3.6 million into its 400,000-square-foot site on East Spring Street in Bluffton, creating 70 jobs.
