Troxel Equipment, The Bowling Center advance in 12-and-under tournament
Korbyn Costello led Troxel Equipment to a 1-0 victory over Ossian State Bank in the opening round of the Wells County Junior League 12-and-under baseball tournament Wednesday night in Uniondale.
Costello walked in the first inning and advanced around the bases to score. He also was the winning pitcher, scattering two hits. Logan House was the losing pitcher, giving up just one hit in the six-inning game.
In game two The Bowling Center defeated BKM Real Estate 13-1 in four innings. Beldon Glasgow led The Bowling Center’s 13-hit attack with a three-run home run and single. Eli Riley added three singles. A.J. Rogers had two doubles. Mason Werling doubled and singled. Jason Johnloz and Colten Maley each singled twice. Joey Martinez doubled for BKM Real Estate. Johnloz was the winning pitcher, striking out eight batters in three innings. Conner Torson was the losing pitcher.
The 12-and-under tournament will resume at 2 p.m. Saturday in Uniondale with Wednesday night’s winners squaring off, followed by the loser’s bracket of the double elimination tourney.

Bluffton Regional downs Pretzels
Bluffton Regional Medical Center outlasted Pretzels 12-9 in a Wells County Girls’ Softball Junior League game.
Honesty Tappy, Destiny Tappy, Lauren McClish and Beth Geisel each had three singles for Bluffton Regional Medical Center. Peri Bussel and Brooklynn Huss were 2 for 3 at the plate. Madison Watson was 3 for 3 for Pretzels, while Payton Lammons, Emily Todd, Hannah Leas and Kassidy Fritch each added two singles.

AdamsWells rolls over Pizza Hut
AdamsWells defeated Pizza Hut 12-8 Monday in a Bluffton Junior League baseball game at Jefferson Park.
AdamsWells scored six runs in the third inning to take an 11-4 lead and held off Pizza Hut. Colton Yergler was the winning pitcher and also hit a home run, triple and double. Xavier Walden doubled and singled twice. Skylier Jones added two singles.
Cody Mittlestedt was the losing pitcher, while slugging two homers, a double and single. Dominic McPherson added two singles for Pizza Hut.

PNC Bank beats First Bank of Berne
PNC Bank scored in every inning to top First Bank of Berne 14-4 on Monday in a Bluffton Junior League baseball game at Jefferson Park.
PNC Bank outhit First Bank of Berne 13-4. Josh Bridges tripled and singled. Nathan Bueter hit a home run. James Souders doubled and singled. Grayson Chrystal and Bryson Wolf each doubled. Tanner Cooley and Gaige Pauley each had two singles. Konner Norman, who was the winning pitcher, also singled twice.
First Bank of Berne was led by Kyle Crist and Will Ball, who each had two singles. Nathan Lazoya was the losing pitcher.

Nodine Dental posts three victories
Nodine Dental recently won three Wells County Girls’ Softball Senior League games.
On Tuesday Nodine Dental defeated National Oil 19-9. Cassie McFarren, Emily Eubank and Theresa Esterhai each hit a double. Mackenzi Hoffacker and Alyssa Small each singled twice for National Oil.
In Monday’s Senior action, Nodine beat iAB Financial 7-4. Alexis Mittlestedt doubled. Emma Powell and Logan Norman each doubled for iAB Financial.
Last Saturday, Nodine scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to tie the score at 8-8 against Les Gerber Insurance. Dawsie Dawson doubled in the sixth to drive in Alyssa Garrison with the winning run.
Les Gerber had scored six runs in the top of the fifth to take an 8-5 lead. Zoe Skinner doubled in the sixth for Gerber Insurance.

Coaches pitch score reported
Peyton’s Northern defeated American Legion & The Auxiliary 21-20 in a Bluffton coaches pitch league game.
