One arrested for dealing meth

A Bluffton man was arrested Saturday morning on two counts of dealing methamphetamine.
Ronald L. Eckelbarger, 63, Bluffton, was arrested at 80 Sunset Drive, Lot 47, after several Bluffton Police and Wells County Sheriff’s Department units served search and arrest warrants.
Five other people were present in the mobile home at the time and were detained briefly outside for officer safety. They are not facing charges at this time.
Eckelbarger allegedly sold the drug to a confidential informant twice in the last two months.
An investigation by the Indiana State Police Meth Suppression team and Det. Andrew Ellis of the BPD, who is also trained in clandestine lab investigations, was conducted after Eckelbarger’s arrest.
Ellis and Det. Lt. Jim Paxton of the Wells County Sheriff’s Department said additional charges against Eckelbarger should be forthcoming.
Paxton said Saturday the continued help from the city and county councils, as well as Indiana Criminal Justice Institute grant funding, allows these drug arrests to happen.
