NOTICE OF PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD

The Town of Markle is conducting a Self-Evaluation of all Town-owned facilities, public right-of-way and all Town programs for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and preparing a Transition Plan describing the results of the self-evaluation. Title II of the ADA requires that each of the Town’s services, programs, and activities be readily accessible and usable by individuals with disabilities.
The Town is soliciting public input, especially from persons with disabilities, their caregivers, and disability advocates on what barriers to access or use of town facilities or programs exist or are perceived to exist. This will also be an opportunity for the community to provide suggestions and comments on how to remove barriers. All comments will be reviewed and considered for inclusion in the self-evaluation and transition plan.
Public comments may be dropped off in writing at the clerk-treasurer’s office (155 West Sparks Street) during normal business hours, provided via voicemail at (260) 420-0335 ext. 6680 or provided via email to email@example.com. The comment period will be open for 14 days, commencing on December 3, 2012 and ending on December 18, 2012.
The Town of Markle complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Upon request, the Town will provide written materials in appropriate alternative formats, or disability-related modification or accommodation, including auxiliary aids or services, to enable individuals with disabilities to participate in public input.
