Challenge remains of what to do with all of the downtown retail space

A year and three months since the Hyett-Palma report indicated a way forward for Bluffton’s downtown, Mayor Ted Ellis says that progress is being made — slowly but surely.
Ellis says that some downtown buildings have been sold, and those owners have indicated that they are going to use the retail space on the first floor. That’s the good news.
The bad news is, in his estimation, that there is much more room to do business downtown and too few businesses available to fill it.
